Eight terrorists killed in J&K

Eight terrorists were killed in separate operations in Kupwara, Baramulla and Jammu today. Three terrorists were eliminated in Keran sector of Kupwara. Earlier in the day, two Pakistani Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorists were killed in Sopore. In Jammu, two terrorists were killed in Jhajar Kotli area. Two terrorists were also apprehended by J&K Police in Ganderbal district.

In a big breakthrough for security forces in J&K on Thursday, eight terrorists were eliminated in separate incidents of encounter and ceasefire violation.

In Keran sector of Kupwara district near the LoC, security forces foiled the infiltration bid by terrorists. In the heavy firing, three terrorists were killed. According to forces, the bodies of the terrorists were recovered and search operation launched.

In an encounter in Reasi in J&K, three terrorists belonging to Jaish e Mohammad have been eliminated.

A day before, terrorists after firing at the security forces had fled. During the massive search and cordon operation in Kakriyal area in Reasi district, security forces reached near a house and terrorists were taken under seige. To know the identity of the 3 terrorists of JeM, security forces launched the search operation on Wednesday during which they also used drone and helicopters.

In the encounter police superintendent Mohan Lal and 8 police personnel were injured. The injured include 5 CRPF jawans and 3 police officers. The injured have been admitted to Narayan hospital in Katra.

In another encounter in Sopore in Baramulla, two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were eliminated. From the encounter site, some ammunition, bombs and suspicious material have all been seized.

The terrorists killed have been identified as Ali and Zia ur Rahman and they hail from Pakistan. Ali was the mastermind of IED blast in Sopore that took place on 6th Jan..in which 4 policemen had lost their lives.

In Central Kashmir of Ganderbal district, state police arrested local terrorist Rauf Ahmad and another belonging to another terror organisation.
