India, France and UAE discuss AI, space and energy cooperation at UNGA
NEW YORK: India, France and the United Arab Emirates held a trilateral ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, with discussions covering artificial intelligence, space, health sciences, energy and culture.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the meeting.
The three countries reviewed progress in their trilateral cooperation across areas of mutual interest. Space, artificial intelligence, energy, health sciences and culture were among the areas discussed.
The ministers also discussed the situation in West Asia as part of their wider exchange.
India, France and the UAE have been working through the trilateral format to expand cooperation in areas where the three countries have shared interests and complementary capabilities.
The meeting also focused on taking forward existing areas of cooperation and identifying opportunities for further collaboration. The three sides emphasised the importance of strengthening their partnership and agreed to continue consultations.
The trilateral mechanism brings together India’s strategic and economic engagement with France and the UAE, with cooperation extending across emerging technologies, energy, space and cultural ties.
The ministers agreed to build on the progress made so far and continue discussions at regular intervals to review developments across the different areas of cooperation.
The meeting took place during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where India and its international partners are holding a series of bilateral and multilateral discussions.
