Nawaz Sharif sentenced to 10 yrs in jail in corruption case

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on Friday in the Avenfield properties reference while his daughter Maryam was sentenced to seven years.

Accountability Court announced the sentence on Friday after several delays.

Nawaz’s son-in-law Capt Safdar was given a one year sentence. Moreover, the accused were also fined 8 million pounds. After setting three deadlines, on Friday the court finally announce the verdict.
