Hyderabad International Airport Receives ACI Asia–Pacific Green Airports Platinum Recognition 2020

Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific has announced the results of the region’s annual Green Airports Recognition 2020 on the World Environment Day, GMR led Hyderabad International Airport received the highest Platinum Recognition in the Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Green Airports Recognition 2020 in the 15-35 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) category for its efficient Water Management Practices.

Mr. Stefano Baronci, Director General, ACI Asia-Pacific, said, “It gives us great pleasure to recognize Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) for their outstanding environmental accomplishments in the ACI Asia-Pacific Green Airports Recognition 2020. ”

The Green Airports Recognition programme was established in 2017 with the support from the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Environment Committee. The programme highlights different environment themes each year. The submissions were reviewed by a panel of judges.

According to the press released, its inception, sustainable development has been the core theme of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL). GHIAL is operating Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) with a focus on conserving natural resources by practicing 4Rs concept- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Replenishment towards environmental protection.
