US Ambassador reaches Rajasthan to witness India-US military exercise
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor arrived in Rajasthan on Thursday to witness the ongoing India-US joint military exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026.
Gor said he was looking forward to seeing soldiers from the two countries train together during the exercise. The visit comes as India and the United States continue defence cooperation through regular military exercises and professional exchanges.
Yudh Abhyas is a bilateral Army exercise aimed at strengthening interoperability and sharing operational experience between the Indian and US armed forces. Such exercises involve joint training and drills designed to improve coordination between participating forces.
The ambassador’s visit provides an additional diplomatic dimension to the ongoing military engagement between the two countries.
Defence cooperation remains one of the areas of India-US bilateral engagement, alongside trade, technology, education, energy and people-to-people relations.
Joint military exercises allow personnel from both countries to train in common operational settings and exchange practices. They also provide opportunities for the two sides to understand each other’s procedures and improve coordination.
The current exercise is part of the continuing defence engagement between India and the United States. The participation of senior diplomatic representatives also reflects the broader strategic relationship between the two countries.
The visit took place in Rajasthan as Indian and American troops continued their training activities under Yudh Abhyas 2026.
