72 pilgrims stranded in Nepal while returning from Muktinath evacuated successfully

In Nepal, the Embassy of India has successful evacuated 72 pilgrims stranded in Dana Village of Myagdi district.

They were stuck in Dana village while returning from Muktinath due to flash floods, incessant rains and landslide.

The stranded pilgrims comprised children and many elderly people over 70 years from Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and overseas Indians. The Indian Embassy received information about them late yesterday.

The mission made food and shelter arrangements for the pilgrims with the help of local adminstration. The stranded pilgrims were airlifted this morning by 18 sorties of small helicopters.

The pilgrims were given initial medical attention upon their arrival in Pokhara. Later pilgrims left for Kathmandu for return journey back home.
