India and UAE Review Comprehensive Strategic Partnership During Vikram Misri’s Visit
India and the United Arab Emirates have reviewed their bilateral relationship and discussed ways to further strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during a meeting between Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and UAE Minister of State and Special Envoy to India Reem Al Hashimy.
The meeting took place during Misri’s official visit to the UAE. Both sides reviewed the broad range of cooperation between the two countries and exchanged views on the situation in West Asia and other international issues of mutual interest.
The Indian Embassy in the UAE shared details of the meeting, stating that the discussions covered the full range of bilateral relations and opportunities to deepen the strategic partnership.
India and the UAE maintain close cooperation across several sectors, including trade, investment, energy, technology, logistics, defence, education and people-to-people exchanges.
The partnership has developed through regular high-level engagements and economic cooperation. Both countries have also worked to strengthen links between businesses, institutions and communities.
The meeting comes after External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held discussions in Mumbai on October 20. The ministers reviewed bilateral ties and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in strategic and economic areas.
The UAE is an important partner for India in the Gulf region. The two countries have maintained active engagement on regional stability, energy security and economic development.
The discussions between Misri and Al Hashimy also included the situation in West Asia. The region remains an important area of diplomatic engagement for India because of its economic, security and people-to-people connections.
The meeting reflects the continued efforts by both governments to maintain regular dialogue and strengthen cooperation in areas of shared interest.
Further progress in the partnership is expected to depend on continued diplomatic engagement and follow-up on the priorities discussed by the two sides.
